Ok folks I'm back with another instalment of the log!
First things first I want to congratulate all the lads for the performance in the cup against Milton the other week. For those of you who didn't watch Match of the Day, the game went something like this......... After once again going out to the pitch far to early we started the game soaked through to the skin. The pitch was boggy and the rain started again. The first 10 minutes or so were quite edgy but then at some point in the first half pig scored a wonder goal in those bright orange boots Steve lent him. Some how the other team pulled one back before the half time whistle. Some would say though sloppy defending but those same people believe defence starts upfront, so lets not lay blame on anyone's shoulders! The second half saw more and more rain, tough tackling and absolutely shattered men. Finally after getting himself in the book for a tackle straight outa the gates of hell, Kev got the winner in great style. That wasn't the end of the match though as the last five minutes not only saw a fantastic save off the line from yours truly, but another great save from Danny and the start of a torrential hail storm. Seriously the sky went black and the hail came down, I thought the world was going to end!!

Apart from that heres the rest of the news:
* Ricky Hatton got beat by a mouthy American.
* We beat a team 4 divisions above us.
* I'm a doubt for Saturday with a foot injury.
* The festive season is upon us and the party season is in full swing.
* The Dons party bus is now only a trio, with skinner driving, Kev staring blankly out of the window and Joe asleep on the back seat wrapped in a quilt of..........

Ok that's the news, now onto the award winning part of the log Chats (no shtats) with Chivs. Today I turn my attention to a Don that has been fully involved in the club since its formation. Rich Jeffries or Egg Bassett as he likes to be known was once the manager of the Dons and was the first I played under when joining the team. Egg is a larger than life character that is always at the centre of the dance floor on a night out. He was my defensive partner before a shocking dance related injury forced him to re-think his style of play. He has re-invented himself to fit the style of the new look Dons and is trying to make a name for himself in midfield. Egg is a policeman and like to eat cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese! Ladies and Gents I give you Egg Bassett!

1)First and foremost how's the ankle? Are you back now for the rest of the season?
Yer ankle is fine I am back (touch wood) for the rest of the campaign however I am a little more thick set so have to get in sum serious training in the new year!!!

2)Your role seems to have changed from your centre back position of last year. Talk me through what you will be bringing to the team this season?
Hahaha yes malc has given me a holding role in midfield which is extremely cankering but on the upside if I lose the ball I don't look so much like a cnut as I have Phil and ur good self behind me !!!

3)You are part of prestigious list of previous dons managers. How do you feel malc and Joes style compares to yours?
Well I would say that firstly the team is a lot better these days u have to remember when I was boss the team were very poor I think the standard of opposition this year is the worst we've ever had but in terms of style and the way we play malc and Joes tactics have been good and we have looked a good side out there!!

Ok that's the introduction out of the way lets move onto the nitty gritty.

4)Who do you think is the most talented Don?
I couldn't possibly say but I would think 1 from either Pig, Al, Lomp or Selly Oh and of course Chivs!!!

5)There were blasphemous talks of you joining Nailsea earlier on in the season. Is that still in the back of you mind or was it said in Jest?
Hahahahahaha yes I was approached by AFC Nailsea but I could never leave the dons, if I left I wouldn't be able to take the piss out of Turner (regarding him scoring more OG's for the dons than real goals)

6)You have brought a lot to the dons nights out and some of your highlights include the 'egg leg', '14 man conga' and the 'airplane'. Will the new year see the birth of a new range of dance moves that will carry the dons through 2008?
I dunno mate im gettin too old for all that I tried a new dance move on reflex floor and it put me out for the first 6 weeks of the season so wel see what happens this weekend!!!

and now the quick fire round...

7) If you were a flavour of ice cream, what would you be?
Well if I was caramel flavoured id eat myself so il go with coffee in order to stay intact!!!

8)Lager or Cider?
Lager (Cider is for peasants)

9)Who out of the Dons has the biggest t1ts?
hmm sorry but prob ade

10)Daddy or Chips?
Chips (if its edible I wanna eat it)

11)Which Don would you most like to punch in the face?
ideally no don would be punched in the face but I would like to punch hillier in the face when hes drunk and its dark and then tell hillier that Turner did it, then sit back and watch the fireworks hahahahaha

and finally....

12)Player of the season prediction?
PAUL SELL

13)Where do you think the dons will come when the fat lady has sung?
FIRST there is no one in this league that can beat us woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Ok folks that it for the log this week. Next week I will be coming at you with my Christmas special! In the firing line for Chats (no Shtats) with Chivs is going to be Chris Hillier. Good luck with Backwell boys and peace and love to all the fans. Chivmeister General.x
